Vehicle Engagement Tactics

Course Overview

In partnership with Area Research Group (ARG), Operational Dynamics is hosting an LE only 2-day Vehicle Engagement Tactics course. Law enforcement personnel interact with the public on a daily basis. Vehicles are the main mode of transportation to respond to a variety of calls. An overwhelming amount of engagements with subjects in law enforcement occur in and around patrol vehicles. The problem in law enforcement is that the patrol vehicle is often an underutilized form of cover due to lack of training, knowledge, and availability to train with them. This course is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and provide a safe environments for officers to get hands on practical experience working in and around vehicle to conduct high risk operations and engage threats. Law enforcement officers will be able to better use their vehicle as a tool to successfully deal with high risk situations and potential deadly force encounters. After leaving this course, students will have a larger knowledge and greater capability on the following: -Ballistics, cover and vehicle take down operations introduction -Understand how bullets interact with vehicle structures, including glass, metal, and internal components. -Differentiate between effective cover and concealment when engaging threats around vehicles. -Demonstrate tactical positioning and movement during high-risk vehicle engagements. -Assess and apply appropriate levels of force during vehicle stops and takedowns within legal parameters. -Perform single and coordinated team-based vehicle takedowns using established tactical principles. -Engage in live-fire and force-on-force scenarios that replicate real-world vehicle combat situations. -Increase survivability through improved decision-making, situational awareness, and weapons handling around vehicles.
