Maryland Wear and Carry

Course Overview

Students wishing to obtain their Maryland wear and carry permit must complete a 2 day(16 hour) course with an approved Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructor prior to application submission. Students will learn the basics of concealed carry, the legal aspects of doing so, the mechanics of handgun use/operation, use of force, among other topics. Students must qualify at the end with a minimum score of 70% on a state approved course of fire. This course also qualifies for an individual to obtain their Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL). Topics Covered: - Gun Safety - MD State Firearms Laws - MD Wear and Carry Application Process - Pistol Fundamentals - Use of Deadly Force - Mindset - Ammunition/Ballistics - Malfunctions/Remedial Action - Reloads - Gear Selection - Weapon Maintenance Equipment Needed: - Handgun with at least 2 magazines - 300 rounds of ammunition - Outside-the-waistband (OWB) or Inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster for the -handgun - Spare magazine holster/pouch - Belt capable of holding the holstered gun and spare magazine pouches - Eye & ear protection - Clothing for weather plus inclement weather gear (class is run rain or shine) NOTE: Minimum 5 students to hold the course. SPECIAL ATTENTION: It is the responsibility of the student to ensure their eligibility to obtain a Wear and Carry permit in Maryland. Operational Dynamics Consulting LLC will not be responsible for your course/ammunition/gear cost if you do not meet the minimum requirements to obtain the permit after the class, and NO REFUND will be issued for a students failure to ensure eligibility.
